Gregory Lake was built during the period of British Governor Sir William Gregory in 1873. Gregory Lake is well famous for recreational activities such as speed boat rides, swan boat rides and Pony rides. There is a bicycle path and well maintained scenic garden surrounding the lake. In addition to that there are shops around the lake. Therefore, currently Gregory Lake is tourist’s hotspot in Nuwara Eliya.
